Red Ciborium Veil with PAX Embroidery and Vine-and-Grape Motif
Ready to ship

Handcrafted in Poland
This red ciborium veil is especially suited to celebrations of the Passion of the Lord, Pentecost, and commemorations of martyrs, providing a dignified covering for the liturgical vessel that holds the Blessed Sacrament.
Liturgical use of the ciborium veil
Intended for liturgical use, this carefully made piece underscores respect for the Blessed Sacrament and the dignity of the ciborium intended to hold consecrated altar bread.
PAX, vine, and grape symbolism
In these celebrations, red carries the liturgical symbolism of love, Christ’s Sacrifice, the fire of the Holy Spirit, and martyrdom.
The PAX embroidery, meaning “peace,” recalls the peace that comes from Christ and is present in the Church’s liturgy. The accompanying vine leaves and grapes refer to Eucharistic wine and to Christ’s words about the true vine. Together, these elements form a coherent composition with a distinctly sacred and Eucharistic character.
Cutout, color, finish, and size
The distinctive cutout in the upper section, at the back, allows the fabric to be arranged conveniently over a ciborium with a projecting finial on the lid. The opening is carefully edged, so the veil drapes well over the vessel while leaving the decorative finial visible.
The red fabric gives the piece a solemn appearance. Its lower edge is subtly finished with gold decoration that harmonizes with the gold elements of the embroidery.
