Handcrafted in Poland
Used primarily during Ordinary Time, this ciborium veil provides a dignified covering for the vessel that holds the Blessed Sacrament.
Ciborium Veil for Ordinary Time
It is intended for liturgical use in churches, chapels, religious houses, and sacristies. Its use is especially fitting for daily liturgical celebrations through a substantial part of the Church year.
Cross symbolism and green liturgical color
Green has particular liturgical significance: it symbolizes hope, life, growth in faith, and spiritual renewal. It is used primarily during Ordinary Time. The cross recalls Christ’s saving Sacrifice and is one of the most important symbols of the Christian faith.
The rich embroidery presents a stylized cross whose center is adorned with a green decorative stone. Its ornamental, symmetrical form gives the veil a formal character, while the stone subtly emphasizes the composition and harmonizes with the color scheme of the entire piece.
Round shape, fabric, and dimensions
The round shape allows the material to drape softly and evenly around the ciborium, creating an elegant and harmonious covering for the liturgical vessel. Made from decorative green fabric with gold ornamentation across its entire surface, it has a subtle gold edge finish that further emphasizes its solemn character.
The veil has a diameter of 21 in (53 cm). Carefully made, it combines the symbolism of the cross with an elegant, richly decorated form, expressing reverence for the Blessed Sacrament and the dignity of the ciborium intended to hold consecrated altar bread.
